Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

Seems to work OK upon a quick limited check. Just changed e-mail address - notification and verification went without a hitch. Thank you!

Re: Ubuntu PPA stuck at 4.4.0alpha1 for focal

Apparently Mint 19.x/Ubuntu Bionic users have no chance whatsoever. Neither the stable nor the unstable hold any installable version anymore. Just as the OP I'm stuck with an old version of the 4.4.0 alpha which has its own problems. Looks like the Microsoft trend of leaving the old behind has becom...

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

The whole world is screwed up big time, what could we expect from a piece of software...
Anyway, it's close enough so let's leave it as is.

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

Uhm yeah, it does return now but to the very first post in the thread, not to the latest (own freshly submitted) as all boards usually do. Link lacks post number (which should be generated on-the-fly I presume). But I just tested and it still doesn't work even when post number is manually added to t...

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

Yep, it's fixed (for now :) ).
That was fast! 8)
You're welcome.

EDIT:
There still is an issue with automatic returning to the topic after submitting a post. Page is blank, refresh doesn't do anything. Bad link...?

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

There seems to be some problem with the MySQL server. When attempting to log out a minute ago I got this error:

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

Hopefully the official update won't screw things up further. They don't make programmers as they used to anymore... ::)

Hopefully it won't be too much work, you probably have other things to do too. Thank you for listening and good luck! 8)

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

Hehe, I've edited the comment above as there was a reply notification but couldn't see your comment. Now I saw it. I've used Pale Moon under WinXP for a few years prior to switching to Linux. It is lighter than Firefox. I know a few things about the effort required and all that. The Linux versionis ...

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

New issues: 4. Image attachment above appears to have been lost although at edit time it still says status OK. It's a 55.79kB PNG. 5. Trying to edit a post and submit yields the message Information The requested post does not exist. Weird. Could this be a major incompatibility with the browser? I d...

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

1. Haven't tried other browsers, I've been using Pale Moon for a few years now and it's set up as I need. Linux doesn't have much of a choice of browsers anyway, at least nothing as configurable. It didn't use to do that before, I only noticed it now after the version/theme change. Cookie settings ...

Re: PSA: Maintenance notices / website updates

There are three issues I wanted to mention while I'm here: 1. Staying logged in is a challenge as the timeout seems to be at a minute or so. One can't even put together and post a short reply - especially when English is not their native language - before getting kicked out, at which point everythin...

Re: How to downgrade?

Have you tried the 4.3.0 alpha versions first? Chances are some bugs are fixed and new useful features may have been implemented. Although I'm having some speed issues myself with the recent alphas, reason why I use an older one (qbittorrent_4.3.0~ 202003041903 -6879-ca01b04~ubuntu18.04.1_amd64). I ...

Re: How to downgrade?

It depends on the OS and CPU you're using. I'm on Mint 19.2 x64 PC so I use the Ubuntu 18.04 amd64 branch.
The unstable (alpha) versions can be found here. Stable ones are here.
Just make sure you get a version corresponding to your OS and CPU version.
