Re: Security Risk - Infected by a mining worm via qbittorrent and weak password

Oh this was the default password on WebUI.
It even received a CVE as a security risk.

The new versions generate a strong password instead to safeguard users.

Re: How to run two instances of qBT?

Yeah, it's been a thing for a long time.
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorr ... table-mode

And they are adding a way to differentiate between the instances; you can add a new title in the title bar, etc. But it's only in the -git version yet, it's not in stable for now.

Re: Seeded torrents slow to pick up after file move

Yeah but there are no downloads (as in peers) on any of those torrents there.
Try adding a Linux torrent, or something from Nyaa that's "needed". You'll seed plenty.

Try the racing method, you can do it on your own PC too if you have enough storage + internet.

Re: Seeded torrents slow to pick up after file move

"Question is, do trackers usually take a while to re-identify me as a seed source or should they just snap back into action as they were before the file move?" That's not how it works. The client simply reports to the tracker that you have the files and people will connect to you. So every...

Re: HD goes to 100% usage when downloads start

... I mean, every torrent client has 2 options: 1) pre-allocate disk space (this is NOT the default) 2) pre-allocate disk space I'd just recommend limiting your download speed in the client so the HDD doesn't get so much data to write out, and PrimoCache is also a nice program that can help. Mind y...

Re: Chitter Chatter

It's a classic book by Orwell nevertheless. Yeah but reading is "hard". Physical books: I don't like physical books because I can't read them at dim light, I have to take good care of them, they can be physically destroyed, they can be lost, etc. It's just very tedious and not many can wit...

Re: Muffled sound

I only had this like decades ago when the sound drivers were so bad.
Try updating your sound driver. Usually an updated driver is available from the motherboard's website.

Like just google for example: ASUS X670E support
And it pops up.

Re: Private torrent

Check on the left-sidebar if you have the proper categories/tags selected. Maybe you are just "filtering" them out.

Re: Dimeadozen protocol error 4

Hmm the website / tracker software won't affect your seeding. Seeding is just hard on some sites. Like we don't discuss piracy here but I've seen sites before (now defunct) where I had 1000+ torrents running and I could not seed up like 1GB after weeks. If it's one of those sites, I'd recommend gett...

You won't find any up-to-date client for XP. Even Windows 7 is end-of-life now.
I'd recommend using an old uTorrent version. That's the only thing that'd be accepted I think. Maybe 1.6.1? Or even older?

Re: PIA VPN Qbittorrent Binding

If you can't find the interface, go into PIA's client and change the Protocol. OpenVPN for example uses a separate interface, while Wireguard does not. Just switch around the protocols and see if it pops up. Make sure to restart qBittorrent between tries. The protocol should not affect your speeds. ...

Re: The best general tracker

Oh yeah I might have gotten confused right after OP. As "general" I meant public trackers you can just add to any torrent. For a general purpose tracker, if we include private ones too, I'd say IPTorrents is definitely nice. But the staff, ugh. I had an issue once and oh my God it was a pa...
