Importing existing torrent with changed directory name

Post by ZBoy »

Hi,
at first I’d like to thank everyone who’s contributing to qbit and this forum.

My problem is extacly the same as described here in a thread which is 1½ years old:
http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php/topi ... g5022.html

After switching from 3.1.9 to 3.1.9.2 I think I wasn’t able to change the save patch directly at the "add torrent dialogue" to avoid qbit creating the folder which is defined in the file list of the torrent. Instead I now need to rename the folder in the file list which is shown in the "add torrent dialogue" to make qbit to identify the data in the folder. In 3.1.9 I just needed to point to the save patch of the containing files. Then qbit added the folder of the torrent file list to the line which I just had to delete.

Is there any other way to import existing torrent with changed directory names? What was the reason the save as path is not editable anymore in 3.1.9.2?

Thank you!

You must be doing something wrong.

Let's say that your already downloaded data is in C:\Downloads\customname while the default folder created by qbt is C:\Downloads\defaultname
Just load the torrent and wait for the "add new torrent" dialog to pop up. Then choose as save path C:\Downloads. Then expand the diablog in the file tree rename the root folder(the very first folder) from defaultname to customname. Check "skip hash check" and then ok. Now everything should work.

Nothing changed between 3.1.9 and 3.1.9.2 apart from the version numbers.
