qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Hello guys,
Can anybody help the community with a way to install qBittorrent on WD My Cloud ?
Transmission was already installed by using this guide : http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-My-Cloud/ ... d-p/619597
I think that it is possible to do the same with QB
Thanks

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Who knows, will you be providing us with a "My Cloud" drive to play with??

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
You can do "apt-get install qbittorrent-nox" in place of the corresponding transmission command.
This will install qbittorrent-nox (== no X == no GUI). Then you could launch it via "./qbittorrent-nox" but it will probably run with root priviliges and I don't know if it is a good idea.
You should install qbittorrent-nox in your local linux box. Play with it(to observe default values) and then transfer the same commands to your SSH session.

That does not work unfortunately.

You do realize that your answer is unhelpful, right?
Which command failed? What was the output in the terminal?

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Ooops my bad. You should issue "qbittorrent-nox" since this installed system-wide.

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
How about these 2 commands:
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. qbittorrent-nox
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. qbittorrent-nox
Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
I have tried those commands, but the qbittorrent can't be found.
I get the same error as the one from my previous post...

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Hmm probably the correct sequence is:
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. ./qbittorrent-nox
But if that also fails do this and copy the output here:
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. ls
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. ./qbittorrent-nox
But if that also fails do this and copy the output here:
1. cd /usr/bin/
2. ls
Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Thanks for the help.
I managed eventually to install it.
There was an issue with the new firmware. I have downgraded to v3 and everything runs smoothly.

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
How can i set it now, to auto-start when the device is rebooted ?
Also, is it possible to change the cache in order to get full speed in downloads ?

Re: qBittorrent for WD My Cloud
Edit qBittorrent.conf. Usually it is found under /home/<username>/.config/qBittorrent
However, if I read it correctly you are running as root so you'll probably find it under /root/.config/qBittorrent
You should edit it to enable the webui and connect to it through a browser. You'll be able to change SOME options from there. There rest would need manual editing.
Then you need someone to tell you how to autorun programs under linux, how to open firewall ports etc. Or google.
