How to change the beep the web ui uses?

Post by GDixon »

Hi,
I'm using 3.1.9.2 and would like to change the beep in the web ui to something more pleasant.
Where do I make the change to use my sound?
I'm using Mepis 12 which is based on Debian.

I attached the ogg file i would like to use

[The extension ogg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

of course i'm still interested or i would not have taken the time to ask the question.
As for the window manager I use KDE
Now I'll go search the window manager again but i have a feeling it's hard coded in qBittorrent

Just as an aside.
KDE is the desktop environment (DE) so the "Window Manager" you are using will most likely be KWin

Any how;
The system sounds for KDE are located in  /usr/share/sounds/ replace the one(s) you don't like with your personal choices (case sensitive names) as the WebUI simply runs in your browser, so uses the same 'sound scheme' as the browser does.

Open "System Settings". Go into the sound settings. Switch out the sound you don't find pleasing. Call it a day.

sadly you all keep repeating the same ol same ol and seem to miss where i actually typed that has all ready been tried. Is it a reading comprehension problem ?
Once again changing it in system settings/System Notification Configuration  does not get it done, it has been tried and it still fails.

First of tell me what you click/press/do in the WebUI that produces the beep.

Not at all, it's more the fact that you have not actually told us what you have tried.

Why would the WebUI have sound?
Is it a navigation sound...? Check in the system sounds, which one it's assigned to, and change it to whatever sound file you like.
