I'm seeding a few torrents with qBittorrent. I notice that peers appear on the list for each torrent now and again. They remain for a few seconds (sometimes 2-3, max. maybe 10-12 seconds). But then they disappear.
The only peer that I see staying connected shows as using the client qBittorrent in the list.
Why are the other peers not connecting or being dropped? Is it a problem with client compatibility? Is the tracker or the peer deciding to prioritize another seed?
That was my guess but it seemed strange that the only peer happened to be qBittorrent. I finally got a connection from another client application, today.
Is there a way to see how many seeds/peers the tracker has for a torrent? I usually see this in other clients but I can't find it in qBittorrent. I only see active connections to me.
The trackers view isn't too accurate about peers. The "seeds" and "peers" columns in the transferlist should be more accurate.
To see if you have connection problems try to download a popular torrent like this one: http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.10/ubuntu ... so.torrent
