Re: Show your desktop
I do like a clean and neat desktop just like ciao has too with a simple wallpaper and only important shortcuts instead every installed program or game. Currently I have the default Windows 7 wallpaper with the blue fish in the middle and 3 shortcuts only. Yours looks quite nice too Nili (Debian I see).

Hello Nemo!
It's called Crunchbang or just #! which is based on Debian,
by changing the pin and repos i passed to testing risking a little from Stable Wheezy (original installation from CD) to a Testing let say a "little Unstable", with a little care and caution installing/upgrading things i can survive without problems.
So yes, its a Debian Testing system.
Thank you,
Nili

Nothing special to see. I love having a clean and neat system without any clutter.
The programs that you are seeing are:
Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/
AIMP3: http://www.aimp.ru/index.php
And other basic things like ATI Tray tools, Microsoft Security Essentials.
Re: Show your desktop
I like too clean desktop, Well, try different Linux distro and finally keep one that does for you.
Re: Show your desktop
@Nili: Ratpoison or DWM is much cleaner yo.
Though, I loved i3 - dat simple config/use.
(But I still used KDE apps, since other GUI apps are always crippled in functionality.
One great example is file browsers. 2014, and only Dolphin got a preview when you select an image to upload.)

Take a screenshot. Press the print screen button at the top of your keyboard, go into paint, and paste and BANG you have your desktop.
edit: someone beat me to it.

Re: Show your desktop
Well, where is yours ?
I installed RocketDock recently which is great! It adds an application bar (like iDock with Mac) with shortcuts for easy acces to your programs/games. Using Mac Leopard theme makes it look perfect.

Ratpoison/dwm, Yeah !!! both most minimalist WM ever.
I only tried dwm, currently been a little while with SpectrWM
i know, too simple nothing much to config but it's lighter.

Re: Show your desktop
Lets give it a new update!
My current desktop:
Full resolution 1920x1080:
https://hizliresim.com/kXy4mm
What you see:
- Chrome: Web browser.
- MSI Gaming app: For my MSI GTX 1070 in combination with MSI afterburner.
- Corsair Utility: For my Corsair RGB Strafe keyboard and fans.
- Core Temp: CPU Temperature measure program.
- Vuze: Java based bittorrent client.
- Foobar: Music player.
- Media player classic: Using K-Lite mega codec pack and its bundled with it.
- DS4Windows: Used to connect your PS4 controller to your pc.
I use some more programs that you don't see at the desktop (qBittorrent also) but are hidden in a folder.
Games that you see:
- Wolfenstein: Wanted to play the first one before I play the newest .
- Need For Speed Most Wanted: Installed for fun, racing now and then. Still one of the best NFS games if you ask me (NFSU2 too).
- Far Cry 4: If I have the time to play it I will but im stuck at the 4th release.
- Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Speaks for itself I guess.
- FIFA 18: Doing some career mode or playing online with friends sometimes.
I can max anything with this system without a bottleneck really. Especially at 1080p resolution the gpu isn't sweating at all. I have plans to move on to 1440p widescreen or something.
My system specs if someone is wondering:
- CPU: Ryzen 1700 + Hyper Evo 212+ Cooler
- MOBO: MSI Carbon B350
- GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
- PSU: EVGA 850G (850 watt)
- SSD: Samsung Evo 850 512GB
- HDD: 1x Seagate 500GB + 1x 2TB Western Digital Blue (3 External HDDs also 2TB each)
- Fans: Corsair ll120 RGB Fans 2x front & 1x back (planning to put 2/3 on top also)
- Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro M (love this case with its nice window on the side also)
- Keyboard: Corsair Strafe RGB (great mechanical keyboard and nice bright rgb lighting)
- Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB (best mouse ever )
- Speakers: I have a nice 2.1 setup from Logitech but forgot its full name. Need to see the box that is stored somewhere above.
- Monitor: Benq 1920x1080 resolution, forgot its exact model. Might get a new widescreen monitor later.
Huge post for your reading pleasure .
