Currently qb copies all torrents to a specific folder, then copies them elsewhere when complete. When I remove the torrent, I would like to have another box asking me whether I want to delete the torrent file as well as the delete all data box.
Right now when I am done seeding, I use doublekiller to remove the duplicate torrent files.
Delete torrent file when removed
Re: Delete torrent file when removed
qbittorrent/libtorrent does NOT 'keep track' of the metadata files in the user defined locations, so cannot remove them 'automatically'. But you can delete them at any time, even immediately after loading should you so wish.
The two user defined locations are for the end user benefit, qbittorrent makes no reference to them during the running lifetime of the associated task. If you do not need the .torrent files for your reference, uncheck BOTH user locations in Options -> Downloads, and you will not have multiple copies of them.

Re: Delete torrent file when removed
Why not? Several other torrent clients do that. I manage a large number of torrents, always copy the .torrent file to another location, just to backup purposes and when I delete a torrent from the Gui (data), it would be nice to have the option of the .torrent file deletion.

Re: Delete torrent file when removed
qBittorrent already deletes the .torrent file it knows about when the payload is removed, the "copies" in the user defined directories are completely superfluous, you can do anything you want with them at any time. If you do not want the copies in the user directories, do NOT check the boxes or define either of the locations, and just keep the copy you downloaded.
Re: Delete torrent file when removed
No qBittorrent does NOT delete the .torrent files in my defined folders (I use other 3 torrent clients that does, don't want to mention software names).
Thanks anyway

Re: Delete torrent file when removed
Read the thread again, it deletes the file in KNOWS about, it does NOT keep track of the tiles in the user locations. BUT You can remove them ALL at any time you want.No qBittorrent does NOT delete the .torrent files in my defined folders
Re: Delete torrent file when removed
Yes I know, I can delete the .torrent files manually
but the subject is about deleting the torrent data and the corresponding .torrent file (uTorrent, Deluge, BitLord, etc. allows you to do that).

Re: Delete torrent file when removed
You are missing the point. The client does not even NEED a special feature to remove the files, turn OFF the saving and copying of the metadata files, and they will NOT BE THERE to even bother about.
