Spam

Post by Peter »

Guess we'll need some anti-bot modules for phpBB. Did anyone use such a thing? On the main website all of them are a bit outdate..

Update1: Installed ATLBL, but now I have to wait for an API key if they send them out. Hope they do and the plugin still works. We may have to move to different forum engine if the spammers won't stop.
Update2: Got the API key, they replied really fast (thanks again!). Hope this will solve our problem.

What happened, did we get spam while I was not around?

Yes, one topic and a user. Deleted both the topic and the user and after that, enabled the ATLBL spam protection module.

My blog wasn't even indexed, but the spammers found it. So I'd say ... no wonder.

If the spam keeps coming, maybe the page should move to Drupal base and use the whole site for that. But that's not my decision at all.

Well hopefully now that spam protection module will work...
