hi guys/girls
im running debian 8 with qbittorrent-nox 3.1.8 that comes with the distro.
its the lastest version i can get with standard apt-get update and upgrade
now the problem is that when i add the ppa from qbittorrent, and then do update and upgrade it upgrades it but then i cant login
i have tried the change password trick in conf to no avail
if i put the correct password in it doesnt say wrong password it just goes back to login in page
if i put the wrong password in it says password incorrect

Log in to the machine the client is on as the user that qbittorrent runs as, either at the console or over a SSH connection.
Navigate to ~/.config/qBittorrent/ and edit the qBittorrent configuration file qBittorrent.conf.
Locate the entry of WebUI\Password_ha1 and change it to this:
WebUI\Password_ha1=@ByteArray(5ebe2294ecd0e0f08eab7690d2a6ee69)
the password will be set to secret.
You should then be able to login the WebUI using your usual username and the password secret. Remember to change it back to your preferred password.

Should work for you <3

Just started using qbt myself.
I had a similar problem, where the web ui would cycle back to the login screen and if the password was actually wrong it would say so.
I found that using the IP address, rather than the name, worked ok for me.
I presumed there's some sort of reverse lookup going on, not the best idea on a home network ......
