Hello!
A few days ago I updated qBittorrent from version 3.3.12 to 3.3.14. Now the GUI looks different -- ugly. And the file-open dialogue is changed to a very inconvenient form.
I think that the previous version I used (3.3.12) was built with Qt4 libs, while this new version is built with Qt5 and this is what caused this problem.
I tried to solve it by appending -style="qt5ct" switch to the command line that starts the application, by changing ~/.profile or /etc/environment, but these things result in something that is even more ugly. I cannot downgrade to 3.2.12 or 3.3.13 since these version are no longer available in the repos.
What can I do to make the GUI look decent again? I'm not using WebUI.
I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS with KDE desktop.
Ugly GUI after update
Re: Ugly GUI after update
Changing the system theme affects all other Qt applications. But not qBittorrent.
I'm on Ubuntu Trusty with KDE desktop. Which means that it is KDE4 with Qt4 libs.
The new version of qBittorrent is compiled with Qt5 libs. And I haven't found any good looking Qt5 themes.
But the biggest source if annoyance is the file-open dialogue in Qt5 -- it's very inconvenient and much less functional than either GTK+ or Qt4 file-open dialogues.
