I know there are many topics relating to restoring existing torrents, but I can't follow most of them. Here's the problem.
I backed up my C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\BT_backup folder and my Torrents folder. I uninstalled Version 4.1.5 then installed 4.1.1. When I start qbittorrent it is blank. I don't see any tool or option to repopulate the active torrents. I'm sure I'm missing an obvious step, but so far nothing.

Maybe when qBitTorrent was reinstalled...it was installed under a different user name/path?

No, exactly the same. I've tried adding a couple of torrents back in, but they don't find the already downloaded file, so they start to download it again from scratch.
Re: Restore Torrents After Reinstalling Older Version
Try adding them in stopped form and recheck the torrent contents to see if they at least work that way...

I'm not sure what you mean by "adding them in stopped form". They already reside in the proper folder, as do the downloaded files.
Re: Restore Torrents After Reinstalling Older Version
In qBitTorrent, under Options, Downloads...
Check the top item "Display torrent content and some options".
And about 3 items down from that, check "Do not start the download automatically".
...Together, that should mean when you add another torrent they will be stopped unless you manually start them.

Re: Restore Torrents After Reinstalling Older Version
SUCCESS! I made the changes, but that had the same effect as manually re-adding the torrent - it didn't recognize that the torrent contents had already been downloaded. All the contents read 0% in the Progress field, I did a Force Recheck and that solved the problem. Thanks so much.
Re: Restore Torrents After Reinstalling Older Version
Hello guys!
I have a similar question: I am using a 3.3 version and would like to download and start using the latest one. How can I keep the current downloaded torrents, I want to keep seeding them after I upgrade to the newest version? Thanks!

Re: Restore Torrents After Reinstalling Older Version
Make sure qBitTorrent isn't running when you run the installer for the updated version of qBitTorrent and that should keep your download torrents intact.
To be doubly safe, back up qBitTorrent's settings and torrents:

The update was smooth, I just closed the Q, ran the update and everything was there. I appreciate your help!
