New modem download speeds have died

I've had a virgin hub 3 fitted (which I now know is shite) I've put it into modem mode and bought a Netgear R6350 router. Since I've started using it my download speeds have dropped to 1 mib/s, I was getting an avarage of around 8 - 9 mib/s pre-virgin hub/router. I use PIA VPN and on a speed test I get around 60-80 mbps, so I think its a problem with Qbit and the router but I don't now what. It always seems to limit the torrents to 1 mib/s.
