Tryin' out v3.0.0rc1 now..
Seems stable this far.

I've tested qbt v3.0.0rc1 for a few mins now and I am wondering if these things only happen on XP...

1. Clicking the column tabs doesn't sort the columns in the "new torrent addition dialog".
2. There is highlighting on the left panel now, but it disappears after you click on the torrent list.
3. The folder handling seems to be the same as before. The root folder still doesn't append to the save path; therefore, the "open destination folder" still opens the orginal save path(not going into the root folder like before libtorrent 0.16.0)? I also suspect this is the reason why the .unwanted folder isn't created and the unwanted files stays in the main folder.

I'm also running WinXP, and I can confirm all these issues.

OK. I've reported the two first bugs that you mentioned here:

..I didn't report the "open destination folder" issue though, cuz I'm not entirely sure that this isn't by design.
Chris will probably read this thread anyway, so we can just wait and see what he has to say about it.

Another thing regarding the "new torrent addition dialog" in v3.0:
I really think that this dialog should be expanded by default (then remember your choice of you'd want it to show as collapsed).

1 and 3 should be fixed in rc2. The second item is Windows specific so I cannot help. Someone with Windows should look into it.

BTW chris DID you ever consider the updates of qbt whitout having to redownload all the client ? I mean is it technically possible to offer updates like skype or something ?
Qbt reminds me a bit of Libreoffice....where we have to download 200+Mb every time

I think Chris wants the new builds to be tested among us first before to be officially uploaded at sourceforge. Sometimes there are some bugs and we report them.

Using any kind of autoupdate feature will require several things:

1. Official update branch, currently we have several installers from different people
2. Dynamic linking all over is preferable, updating 15 Meg exe is real pain
3. UAC integration
4. patcher, based on xdiff
