qbittorrent 2.9.11 and 3.0.0-rc3 crash on start

Post by Gothmog »

Hi,

my qbittorrent client crashes when I start it. I tried installing v3, and it's the same. It might be related to a big torrent I added shortly before the problem showed up, or not. I'd try to delete the torrents, but I don't even know where to find the .qbittorrent folder on Windows. Also, I'd like to provide more helpful information, but I have no experience debugging programs on windows; so, if someone would give me a hint or two, I'd be happy to try.

There's already an rc5 build out. Check the sticky on the top.

On Windows qbt saves in the

Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\qBittorrent
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\qBittorrent

in Vista/7/8 check in the AppData and Roaming folders(under C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\)

Thanks for your help!

Installing rc5 didn't help, nor did renaming the .ini files in AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent; but renaming the folder AppData\Local\qBittorrent did.

No problem. Just so you know the torrents are stored in AppData\Local\qBittorrent\BT_backup

Could you post the torrent that causes the crash (or a link to it)?
