Upgrading 4.2.5 to 4.3.9

Post by catapult »

I have 4.2.5 currently installed, and would like to upgrade to 4.3.9. I have a large number of torrents seeding already and am concerned about how to move them to the 4.3.9 upgrade. When I tried this in the past, 4.3.9 didn't find my torrents so I reverted to 4.2.5. Is there a guide to how to do this? Thanks!

Simply back up settings under both

Code: Select all

%APPDATA%\qBittorrent
and

Code: Select all

%LOCALAPPDATA%\qBittorrent
If you have that backed up, you can go upgrade, downgrade, etc.

Thanks! So I can back up these files, and leave my torrent files and data where they are?

Yeah, leave the data at their own place. Just backup the settings from those folders.
Then do the upgrade. Nothing should happen, your progress, torrents and everything should just continue where they left off.
At least that's what happens for me, but I only had a handful of torrents when I leaped versions.

Things go sideways?
Delete qBittorrent from Programs and Features, and grab the installer for 4.2.5.
