qBittorrent 3.0 torrents manually added VS torrents added using watched folder

Post by mrjayviper »

I have successfully compiled qBittorrent 3.0 on Freebsd 9-stable.

I am a bit confused with watched folders in qBittorrent. I decided to copy some completed files to the FreeBSD box. These files were downloaded using uTorrent.

If I manually add the files, qBittorrent will recognized them as completed files and will just just continue seeding them. If I copied the files to the watched folder, qBittorrent will start downloading them again.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Could this be a bug? thanks :)

"Watched" folders work like this:

qbt watches the contents of the "watched" folder for the existence of ".torrent" files. Whenever a new ".torrent" file is added to that folder, qbt automatically adds it to the current session and starts downloading it to the "download here" folder. It is a form of automation.

And if i'm not mistaken, ticking "do not start the download automatically" in options -> downloads will also apply this preference to the torrents loaded from watch folder, WebUI and RSS downloader. It would be good if we could select a different setting for RSS downloads since it's easy to miss the swarm if you're not behind your computer to start the download. I think I'll make a feature request.
