There is an excellently maintained list of BT trackers that are automatically checked and updated daily. They are hosted on Github and come in a few different options. Here is the main page for it:
https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist
There's a list of all trackers, HTTP trackers, IP, UDP, WS (which qB doesn't support, I assume) and then a list called "best" which is the one I use. The best list has approximately 20 trackers and is updated very frequently. I simply copy this list into Notepad++, remove the blank spaces in between the list, and then manually paste it into the section under qBitorrent, Options, Bittorrent, Automatically add these trackers to new downloads.
This is the best list: https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist ... s_best.txt (click on Raw to access it in plain text).
There is also a blacklist of apparently bad trackers, which isn't explained why they are bad.
Finally, here is the readme for the info on how the trackers are updated and sorted: https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist ... /README.md
I would love to see the ability for qB to automatically download the best list and import it into the "Automatically add these trackers to new downloads" section. Or alternately, a user could choose which list they wanted to import.
I hope the devs will consider this suggestion. Thanks and keep up the great work on qB!

Automatically Update Daily Trackers List
Re: Automatically Update Daily Trackers List
When I learned a [very] little bit about trackers and a [very] little bit about how badly QBittorrent manages trackers, I spent a couple of hours finding a list of trackers, transferring it to qBittorrent > Options > Bittorrent > Automatically add these trackers to new downloads, checking the list for each of a few dozen torrents...
There must be a better way. Thanks for StarScream777 for their suggestion.
Wow; 70 views, about 10 times more than the other suggestion threads. Interest level is high.
There is also a blacklist of apparently bad trackers, which isn't explained why they are bad.
Many big and small trackers have ceased to exist, but many torrents continue to include them. In BitTorrent clients that support a tracker blacklist, tracker announces to those trackers are not attempted.

Re: Automatically Update Daily Trackers List
There's a fork of qBittorrent that seems to have this functionality: https://github.com/c0re100/qBittorrent-Enhanced-Edition
(sorry to necro -- this post appears in websearches for this functionality)

Re: Automatically Update Daily Trackers List
I am puzzled with what you wrote; ".....remove the blank spaces in between the list,....."
The list is with one full line and one blank line. SO, should I remove those blank lines after each tracker address? or leave it like that and copy-paste it to qbittorent?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance

Re: Automatically Update Daily Trackers List
I've never added trackers globally, but when added manually to a torrent, removing the spaces causes them all to be added as tier 0. Whether that's good, bad or neutral depends on your advanced settings for tier handling.
Adding trackers doesn't make much difference though. The best trackers are the ones in the torrent metadata because every client knows about them. I only add extra trackers when the original set are all dead and the torrent is stalled.
This might help if there is a useful peer with DHT turned-off, but I've never actually seen it make a difference.
Do make sure you have DHT and PEX turned-on.
