Issue:
qbittorrent downloads are way slower than utorrent given the same torrent file/magnet link
What is way slower? The download speeds are about 90% slower approximately when compared to utorrent.
ETA on both qbittorrent & utorrent for a given torrent file/magnet link may be same. But, utorrent always downloads them first and sometimes qbittorrent completes the download after utorrent has already downloaded the file
qbittorrent almost always changes the status of a download to stalled
From what I have noticed, the issue seems always to happen when using a VPN
Speed issues are negligible when downloading purely on LAN
What have I tried?
Reinstall of qbittorrent app
Using qbittorrent as is (without performing any customizations)
The issue of qbittorrent stalled downloads or speed issue persists even though when I change VPN providers (I have tried 3 separate VPN providers)
I have tried using VPN's with different protocols (Wireguard, OpenVpn, IKEv2)
Yes, I do use "Split-tunneling" although that shouldn't matter w.r.t qbittorrent
I have tried not using the feature where qbittorrent & utorrent are prioritized internet traffic
Select the specific "network interface" within qbittorrent settings to use the network adapter created by the VPN (since I used three) being used at a given point in time
Yes, I have tried using just one VPN at a time, meaning completely uninstall the other two
I have tried a fresh install of Windows 7, Windows 10
The speed issues don't seem to matter whether or not I use a firewall
History:
I have been using qbittorrent for over 2 months now
I had Windows 7 earlier
Upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago
Current version of qbittorrent is 5.0.5 64-bit
Please let me know if there are more ways to troubleshoot or get something more from the qbittorrent logs.
