qBittorrent 3.0.8, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Post by JT »

Followed terminal command instructions here: http://www.qbittorrent.org/download.php

Error:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
qbittorrent: Depends: libboost-system1.46.1 (>= 1.46.1-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-thread1.46.1 (>= 1.46.1-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libtorrent-rasterbar6 (>= 0.16.4+svn.r7538) but it is not going to be installed

Already attempted getting dependencies through the command-line install instructions. No good.

I'm using a fully-updated 10.04 LTS because this old machine bogs down with newer versions. I could use the older version archived in the Ubuntu Software Center (2.2.5), but it isn't working with RSS magnet links.

Which PPA do you use? Chris' official builds list 10.04 (lucid) as version 2.7.3 with libtorrent 0.15.6.
I'm afraid if you're using the "surfernsk/internet-software" version, qB 3.0.6 with libtorrent 0.16.4+svn.r7538. You have to somehow contact this user?

Did you try to remove old version before updating? And also updated the PPA before updating?
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install qbittorrent

I had the same issue, but I'm using debian testing.  Originally I had libboost-system1.49.0 , but it wanted libboost-system1.46.1 (>= 1.46.1-1), so I had to download it from http://snapshot.debian.org/binary/libbo ... tem1.46.1/ I also updated  libtorrent-rasterbar6 to 0.16.7+svn.r7880-0ubuntu1~precise from the qbittorrent ppa. Then I installed 3.0.8-0ubuntu2~precise without any problem.
