[SOLVED] Error installing v2.4.11

After installing, I tried to launch the program and got the following error:

Code: Select all

CreateProcess failed; code 14001
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.

The zip build gave the same error. Also in the security log of the event viewer was the following error:

Code: Select all

Dependent Assembly Microsoft VC90.CRT could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Searching eventually led me to try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. First I tried the 2010 version hoping it would be backward-compatible, but that didn't work. I uninstalled that and tried the 2008 version and finally I was able to launch qBittorrent!!!

Perhaps only a few prospective users have such an old computer as I do, but if they get the error I did they probably wouldn't spend the time and effort I did to overcome it. You should provide a link for the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable for those who need it. Thanks.

Maybe the installer should check for it. Don't know if it's possible with the current installer.

I also had this error, "configuration is incorrect" after I installed qBittorrent on my old Win XP box. I solved it by downloading and installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package at:
