How do I know whether qBittorrent is using the proxy I specify? I entered a socks5 proxy which is rated at 400kb/s according to the website I got it from, but qBittorrent easily maxes the 900KiB/s speed that I have set for the global download limit. qBittorrent seems to do this regardless of the proxy I specify.
Monitoring PeerBlock, no known anti-P2P organizations seem to attempt to connect to me, but my computer attempts to connect to them, although the connection is refused. PeerBlock displays my router's IP as the source. I have never seen any proxy I specify displayed.
Side note:
According to speedtest, I have around 10Mbps, although I'm pretty sure I'm registered for 20Mbps, download and 5Mbps upload. What would be a good download and upload global limit? I want to achieve speeds as fast as possible, but I don't want to monopolize the bandwidth. Other people use my connection for browsing, and I like to use it for other things including browsing, streaming high-quality videos, and playing games. I think my ISP is more likely to throttle me when I maximize my bandwidth, too. Currently, I have download limited to 900Kib/s, and I think I left the upload limit at default.

Re: How do I know if qBittorrent is using specified proxy?
I think proxy works for TCP but not for uTP. So you need to disable uTP to only use TCP connection.
Re: How do I know if qBittorrent is using specified proxy?
Do you mean the 'enable bandwidth management (uTP)' option? I disabled it. My seeds remained at 4 while my speeds stayed around 250-350 KiB/s. When I turned uTP back on, my seeds and speeds significantly increased. However, in both cases known anti-P2P organizations attempted to connect to my IP address. The proxy didn't seem to do anything in either case despite being labeled anonymous.

Re: How do I know if qBittorrent is using specified proxy?
Yes, if you want the proxy to hide your IP uTP must be disabled since proxy settings does not apply to it. I tried for myself using Tor and SOCKS5 and it worked as I expected it to. TCP connections was behind proxy while uTP was my real IP.
A great tool to check for yourself is http://processhacker.sourceforge.net/ it has everything you need in that area.
Good Luck.

Re: How do I know if qBittorrent is using specified proxy?
Hi UsL,
I've always left uTP on so I tried the processhacker tool, and maybe I'm not reading it correctly, I'm no expert, but I didn't see any other IPs besides the proxy one. I didn't see any difference in the results with uTP on or off.
The only odd thing I saw was this:
qbittorrent.exe (8328), 3dns-1.adobe.com, 64067, 3dns-1.adobe.com, 64066, TCP, Established,
Any idea what that is?
