Nope. It can ONLY be removed when you remove the job from your client completely

If you continue to seed the payload your client has, whether it is "complete" or not, it WILL need those "unwanted" pieces as well as the "wanted" pieces.
all my partially downloaded torrents that are completed do not have the unwanted folder anymore....
Not every job will have any "unwanted" download, it is only if there are pieces that that overlap 'wanted' file boundaries with 'unwanted' files.

Nemo: Katzius; No need to open a 3rd topic about the same unwanted folder subject and also with the same topic name. Copied and pasted your message to here and removed the topic that you have opened, thanks.

I have seen a few topics in this forums about this issue but it seems none of them contain the answer.

I keep on downloading big torrents and choosing only part of the files in the torrent, but still after the download complete, qbitorrent shows it downloaded a certain amount, but when I right click on the folder it self it weight usually the same as the original torrent as if I did not choose not to download part of it.
Once I go inside the downloaded folder, there's a hidden folder named .unwanted which seems to contain all of the files I chose not to download and all the files actualy takes hard disk space as if they were downloaded.
this seems like an horrible bug since I have not seen this happening in any other bittorrent client.
there has to be a way to do it right, I mean I have been using uTorrent for many years now and I never had this issue.
Thanks alot.

@Nemo on SMF you can use the "Split Topic" and "Merge Topic" to move posts from one thread to another and it will keep the date order correct.

yep thats true but in general there is always one piece that overlap over 2 files.

ok found another oddity:
i noticed that when i wanted to move to folder to another drive, so after having deleted the torrent from qbt. this time, i ended up having in that folder (so not into an unwanted folder) files i never ask to download. some were less than 1Mo big, some has their full size but weren't using that much space on the HDD. i cant say if some actually were fully written to HDD cuz i forget to check.

you guys difinitively have a problem with partial download!! is the method of dealing with unwanted files in utorrent can be implemented with qbt?? cause so far it is way smarter and at worse you only end up with a not too big file.
