@ironcross...
well i sometimes copy....but when i don't need a torrent anymore and dont seed it...i CUT it....
[/quote]
In that case the proper action is first to delete it from the transfer list, then do whatever you want with the file.

Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support
I relaunched after updating this morning and something odd seems to have happened. Torrents older than the last couple of weeks have their added dates changed to today and have completely reset to 0.0%. I tried re-check to no avail - it's as if the files were never downloaded.

Check the folder or file name, did you rename any folder or file of these torrents in question?
Also, the "new" way that folders are handled in latest versions is another reason this may have happened.

I have just come over from utorrent and started using qbittorrent, I find every time that I add a new torrent all my old torrents open in the program and recheck even after deletion from the program. Any ideas?

Which version of qBittorrent are you using?
Regarding the reappearance of deleted torrents; there was a bug in the v3 RC's prior to RC4 that might cause this behavior..
The problem was discussed here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/qbittorrent/+bug/1020227
Also, you might wanna try a clean install (see comment #7 in the link above).
Another user recently made a post similar to yours here:
http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topic=854.0
I suspected that Python might have something to do with it, but he wasn't using it..
Anyway, like I mentioned to that other user, exiting qBittorrent properly before rebooting is essential.

Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support
Thanks I was using RC3, I upgraded to RC4 and the problem has now been resolved and must say I am liking this client a lot more than utorrent from what I have seen so far.
Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support

on a side note....is there anyway to prevent accidentally pushing the lock button....??
i mean i did it twice wanting to close the client and BOOM by mistake locked the client! .....
and it was a nightmare to figure out the password as i have put it for testing purposes a long time ago.....
Any ideas to prevent "locking accidents"

Never had the problem myself, but if you ask Chris politely, I guess it would be a simple task for him to add a confirmation dialog

You could turn off the top toolbar, no more lock button to get confused with the close button. (I had to turn it on just to see how someone could accidentally push it when trying to close instead.)

turning the toolbar OFF would be GOOD...but i loose my icons
So no can do....
I mailed chris a few second ago.....and gave him some suggestions in french
that would make the process easisier and safer regarding the "LOCK" feature.
No big deal but...drove me crazy a couple of times....

Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support
I tried to download a single file from a multi-file torrent that contained ten 10 GB files. I have "pre-allocate disk space for all files" enabled and qBittorrent pre-allocated the whole 100 GB, taking up a good chunk of my hard drive, not the 10 GB file I had selected for download. I really want to use this program but it just doesn't work properly.
Another thing is, qBT is still noticeably slower than uTorrent for me. It peaks at roughly 3,7 MB/s whereas uTorrent stays at 4,6 MB/s with the same torrent.

does it change something with DHT on or OFF
?

Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support
qBittorrent 2.9.11
Windows 7 x64
I'm trying to put my finger on an issue I experience sometimes. Sometimes when I click a torrent link via Firefox and it opens in qBittorrent, the torrent is not added to qbittorrent. I can then drag and drop the same torrent file from my hd to the qBittorrent window and it is then added, however the torrent will stay in a "stalled" state. I then have to close and reopen qBittorrent to make it start downloading the torrent. Is this a known issue? I haven't seen it mentioned here or on the bug tracker. It doesn't happen everytime, so I'm wondering if it has to do with certain characters in the torrent file name or torrent contents?
Also, I use the "open destination folder" option on the right click menu quite a bit. It was handy to go directly to the torrent's files in my Downloads directory. I believe it used to work in some old version, but it definitely doesn't work now. It always opens the general "download folder" that is set in Options, which isn't that helpful. I believe it used to at least highlight/select the torrents parent level contents in your Downloads directory. (i.e. the torrent's folder, if the torrent creator put its contents in a folder or simply the downloaded file if the torrent's contents were nothing more than a file. It should open the actual torrent's folder or highlight/select the file if the content of the torrent is simply a file.
I am watching this development eagerly! Now that qBittorrent supports uTP, I believe I can solely convert to this client. We just need a few things worked out like those mentioned above and this will be the best bittorrent client on Windows.

Re: qBittorrent 2.9.11 + 3.0.0rc4 installers - Built with MSVC 2008 and uTP support
loki & Tomasso !!!
Just booted on Linux mint....and the lock issue DOES NOT exist here !!!!!!!!!! when i click on the lock button (which is much wider...i like!) it prompts fo a PASSWORD. this method is much sagfer than in windows !! On that MS OS, the lock icon is 1/ SMALL and when we click on ot it automatically locks.
IS there any chance of making that feature as SAFE as in LINUX
