Hi all,
Sorry if this was mentioned in a previous post. I didn't see it obviously.
I've just used the tool to migrate my utorrent torrents to qbittorrents. I now have the newly created .torrent and .fastresume files in the qbittorent destination directory I've created. But when opening qbittorrent I don't see any torrent.
My "Copy .torrent files to" setting in qbittorrent is set to that same destination directory but still I don't see any torrent listed.
Have I missed something?

Usually, if you don't use portable version of qBt folder exists in your %localappdata%, and bt2qbt compute it itself, without any additional keys. Tell me exactly, how you setup and run qBittorrent, utorrent, and paths where utorrent has resume.dat and qBittorrent has .fastresume files. And also cmd that you use for run bt2qbt

In my command I set
D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\utorrent-old as destination. And didn't input any source since it's the default location.
Also FYI, the actually torrents that I have in utorrent are saved under
D:\[Dls]\[temp]\torrents
This is what the script output when I ran it (I didn't paste the rest but it converted all the torrents without any error):
It will be performed processing from directory C:\Users\Foobrother\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent to directory D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\utorrent-old
Check that the qBittorrent is turned off and the directory D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\utorrent-old and C:\Users\Foobrother\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent\categories.json is backed up.
After the migration all the newly created .torrent and .fastresume files are under
D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\utorrent-old
In qbittorrent I have only changed the following settings:
- Default Save Path = D:\[Dls]\202409
- Use another path for incomplete torrents = D:\[Dls]\[temp]
- Copy .torrent files to = D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\tmp
- Copy .torrent files for finished downloads to = D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents\utorrent-old. Initially I had D:\[Dls]\[temp]\qb-torrents but I thought maybe I needed to point it to the migrated torrents folder. And then I could change it back ones the torrents are listed.
I know having [ ] in the path isn't ideal. Stupid idea from a long time ago. But I don't think that should be the issue? I can change it for qBittorrent folders to use normal ones if needed.

why you use this destination?
Option in qBittorrent uses only for save copies of torrent files to directory, but qBittorrent itself uses torrent files in directory in profile. Just try run without define dst

Ah!!! I get it now!
I thought qBittorrent was storing the torrents in a folder like uTorrent and I had to specify it. But it turns out it's in a profile as you said.
I have done what you said and ran the cmd without any parameter and it worked perfectly! Kept the added dates and converted the labels into categories! Amazing :-)

Hi!
I'm new to qBittorrent.
Need help with migration from uTorrent 1.8.2 to qBittorrent 5.0.0
Both applications are portable versions.
Got over 9k torrents in uT and the main problem is that I've renamed the folder name of each torrent while added them for over 15 years.
For example (how I added my 9k torrents):
The directory of saving in automatic mode (in both apps) is D:\Seeding
I'm adding new torrent in manual mode, folder name is Luttrell-French_Bulldog-(ANJDEE859D)-WEB-2024-AFO
But I don't want to keep it in D:\Seeding, I'm changing the path to E:\-=Trance=-\--__Anjunadeep__-- and changing the folder name to [ANJDEE859D] Luttrell-French_Bulldog-(ANJDEE859D)-WEB-2024-AFO
Downloaded it and seeding for fifteen years up to this moment, when I decided to change my torrent app.
The main question is:
Can I manage this migration in automatic mode? Which settings in migration-app I have to do? Tried to fetch the data from uT 1.8.2 folder, but if the name of the folder is differrent from Luttrell-French_Bulldog-(ANJDEE859D)-WEB-2024-AFO and the folder is different from D:\Seeding - the torrent isn't pass hash check and starting to download again.
Or I'm tied with uT 1.8.2 for ages?

Hi! After sucessfully migrate? Do you see your torrents in qbt? They all have wrong places?

Yes, I can see them in qBt. But my mechanism is like this:
1. I run the bt2qbt_v1.999_amd64.exe with this parametres D:\Appz\qBittorrent\bt2qbt_v1.22_amd64.exe -s D:\Appz\uTorrent -d D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup
2. Manually add the torrent files from D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup in qBt
3. Got the problems from my first post.
They all have wrong places?
Yes, it qbt tries to find all the files in
D:\Seeding, can't do it and starts to download files to
D:\Seeding

Because after the work of tool (bt2qbt_v1.999_amd64.exe) I get 9k files like
00a1efbcf3485a46d137d555058d0c6b79d63a9f.fastresume and 9k files like
00a1efbcf3485a46d137d555058d0c6b79d63a9f.torrent in
D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup and that's all. No one new torrent adds to qbt so I have to do this manually.

Now I see. qbittorrent uses sha1 hash from torrent info section as name of fastresume and torrent file (pair). Files that you copied not used at all.
And I'm sure that yours qBittorrent instance doesn't use folder D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup.
You can check it if you remove all from D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup and when you open qbittorrent again you will see all yours manually added torrents.
You need use correct qbt dst directory (and don't forget clean up you manually added torrents before use bt2qbt).
After bt2qbt expected that you will see all you torrents and none manual actions required.

Both apps are portable.
*deleted all the files from D:\Appz\qBittorrent\profile\qBittorrent\data\BT_backup - nothing disappeared from qbt, you're right
