Okay guys I tested AdSense on my blog and even though I only get a few visits, we could make this work.
The money for one year of hosting would come together in like... a month or even less.
(That means I would remove it entirely after I get enough for the host. Heck I'll even post here the receipt + updates about AdSense. But I'll have to check up the latter if that's allowed. I seen accounts getting banned for that.)

I would like to try it if there is a non-obstrusive, "friendly" option available that we can use.
Any objections?

Update 1: I'm on it, but the Argentum theme needs manual work. I'll try to fix it today.

Update 2: Added a "after first post" to GrayStyle. Argentum will follow soon.
Too bad if I use my own "Ad Unit" (e.g.: the color scheme you want), it won't load properly.
I'll try to fix this issue. I don't want to drive people away.

No worries, I save the site + SQL each day.
Though, this is only a small mod in the php files.

Bug list:
[*] In GrayStyle, there is no ad if you permalink a reply.
[*] Argentum2 is so unique, it's hard to insert the ad snippet properly. I'll fix that tomorrow.

If you are here on the site right now, don't worry. I'm trying to fix the placements, and make it look as proper, as possible. (It's not that simple, like there is a <td> where the CSS rule would fit perfectly, but I can't modify the whole CSS rule, because that would mess up the rest of the forums.)

Got the problem, but no solution (yet!): If I add a category, it needs to have a name.
If I use the numpad+255 trick, it gets an empty name, but the name will also become a "line" there.
(as it's the name.)

This will push the ad down, and deform the table. I'm working on it.

Well, modifying the name via SQL worked. Just had to remove the empty character.

@GrayStyle users (all the three of you  ;D): Do you use the RSS icons that are displayed at every subject?

No. I don't use RSS at all.

I'll try to remove them, then.
But you can still use RSS (if you become ever interested in subscribing to just one forum). You will just need to pust the RSS button in Firefox, not the one on main site.

I meant these: (attachment)

I'll try to fix them somehow. Sadly the code got some "programmer's magic" in it, it just works.
But how exactly, is not a simple question.

There was a function for displaying RSS (echo ofc), but it didn't change anything.
It's the only line doing RSS related work, and it won't change the site.
I thought it's a cache thing, but that's not possible. If the code changes, site changes.
(Checked if it's the right theme, and it is, there is no other GrayStyles around. I'll look around even further, as the theme is really unique, and it's far different than the stock one. Well, the Argentum2 got some unique code as well, but at least I could work with that. :))

I don't use rss either. I didn't even see the per thread rss feed until you mentioned it.

Yeah it fits in just perfectly, but the ad messes it up. (Sadly, I can't fix it like Gray, as the RSS icon causes the problem. ) Well, I'll fix it on Tuesday.

You sure the ad works (if it is on)?

It does, for me. Turn off adblock? :)

I also have ghostery. Always forget about about this one. Works now.
Too bad I can't make selective noscript rules.

Ah, no problem. We do get some minimal amount now, although not much.
I do hope that we will be able to get enough for the hosting.

(I just use AdBlock, so I added a whitelist rule for only this site. :D)

PS.: As much as I was transparent all the time ever since I started the forums, I can't post exact numbers as it's against the rules of AdSense. I'll try my best to keep you guys informed as much as possible.
