Torrents Saying 'stalled' after reaching 100% but progress % bar in content tab is not 100%

SO confused.
4.4.2. Downgraded to 4.4.1 and the same thing is happening.
Only seems to happen with larger torrents. I download the torrent (or it appears I did), the progress bar reaches 100% and the torrent status changes from 'downloading' to 'stalled' when it hits 100.
However the file progress bar within the content tab is not at 100% and keeps increasing on its own. QbitTorrent is showing a download speed of 0.0, but I can see from task manager and various other tools that there is full network activity coming out of the client, not to mention the progress bar of the 'stalled' torrent continues to move within the content tab HDD is maxing out at 100%.
Torrent eventually finishes after a much longer than expected download. Things seem fine until it reaches 100% on the main window, then it switches to stalled. HDD also much louder than it usually is.
Have tried chkdsk and crystaldiskinfo to see if there is health / bad sector issue. I haven't installed any new software on the machine.
