New 2 Ubuntu, having installed 3.0.5, liking it, but realising there are some issues, seeing 3.0.6 is out, I'm looking for update instructions, I have seen Christophe Dumez page, for recent versions, but I can not update or install 3.0.6 as I would like.

Please advise.

Which version of ubuntu? The versions that have Christophe official 3.0.6 updates are oneric and precise.

I think the ppa instructions need to be updated too since he no longer updates natty... pick one of the 3 choices here based on your needs and what version of ubuntu you have
# qBittorrent Stable (Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty" and 11.10 "Oneiric" and 12.04 "Precise")
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hydr0g3n/ppa

# qBittorrent Stable (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid" and 10.10 "Maverick")

You're using too new an ubuntu, 12.10... it is not (as of yet at least) supported or built from developer. (I'm guessing 3.0.5 came from official ubuntu repos...?)
You are pointing to the proper PPA when developer decides to build a Quantal build, then it will pick up the latest version from the ppa and nothing else for you to do on your end.
Other than building it from source yourself or waiting for the ppa I don't think you have any other options.

Correction: Quantal build 3.0.6 is available now, as of 11 hours ago.
