Qbit 4.1.5 crashing - Upgrade? Reinstall?

Hi, thanks for reading this!
Qbit (4.1.5) has recently become buggy. Gobbles up humungous memory before settling down - if it doesn't crash before.
(On my PC, Win 10, 16 GB memory: Task manager indicates 7,000 or 8,000 MB used, then slowly drops back down to about 1,200 MB.)
So I'm thinking I should upgrade and or reinstall. Any thoughts?
If I upgrade, to which version?
If I reinstall, should I use Windows to delete old version?
Many, many thanks for all advice and input.

The latest version (4.4.5) should be fine. You should be able to upgrade without removing your old installation.
However, you can always back up your old settings and return to 4.1.5 if you have like a LOT of torrents.
The old settings can be found in two places.
Press WIN+R in Windows, and in the "Run dialog", type:
%APPDATA%
%LOCALAPPDATA%
Each folder has a "qBittorrent" folder, which you should back up and put back if things go wrong.

Hi Peter,
Forgive me for not responding immediately. I wanted to see how stable the new install would be before replying and thanking you.
I followed your instructions - but did uninstall first, after backing up both Local and Roaming directories.
It worked like a charm.
There were a few minor wrinkles. Many older torrents that were no longer running in 4.1.5 reappeared in 4.4.5.
I simply deleted them.
And some - but not all - torrents started downloading again. I stopped them and force rechecked.
Then QB crashed twice when I was trying to Force Recheck a torrent I'd transferred to my PC via FTP.
I feared that 4.4.5 had inherited the same problems as 4.1.5, but now it appears that problem is limited to that single torrent.
(Not sure why, it's never happened before, but if that's the only bug I'm left with, I'm laughing.)
Thanks so much for your prompt, clear, kind and helpful reply.
All the best
PS BTW in searching for solutions to my problem I came across numerous websites listing optimum settings for torrenting on QB. Is there one you recommend? Thanks again
