Disable checking progress of torrent in every startup

Hi,
I think most of us has this issue.
I have 9000 download items, in every startup of the software, the software checks the progress of each item Initiatively. It takes about a minute to use the software....And I think the progress hurt my harddisk! I have 9000 items. Actually I do not care about the latest progress / status of each item becoz I have 9000...
Is there a way to Disable checking progress of torrent in every startup, or we can develop such function?
