Is it possible to delete only a few files from already downloaded torrent and how to do it right?

For example, i have downloaded a torrent with 12 files in it, but i want to leave only 6 of them. I checked "Do not dowload" on 6 files in qBittirrent and i closed qBittorrent and deleted 6 files from disk. But when i open the program again it notifies that 6 files are corrupt. So what should i do to delete files right from already downloaded torrent?

The way that I have done it in the past is to remove the torrent completely and then re-add it in "Stopped" state (so it don't auto start as soon as you add it). When you remove the torrent, make sure you don't delete the torrent, you only want to remove it, then assuming you still have or can get the .torrent file just add it back. After you've added it back, then uncheck the files you don't want downloaded, then do a "Force Recheck" on it and once its done you should be good to go.

Bad way. I delete all .torrent files when start downloads.
