I can open Pirate bat web-site. I can choose a file to download.- Qbittorrent opens but nothing happens. It says somwthing about receiving metadate burt nothing more. What is wrtong

This is basic torrenting issue not qBittorrent related.
- the torrent might not have enough seeds
- the torrent might not have any working trackers left
- your firewall in your OS might block qbt
- your router might have a buggy UPnP and thus you can't DHT/PEX properly
- your av software firewall is messing things up
- if you use a VPN it might break things
Just to name a few.
Sometimes, you can also just add a bunch of trackers to each torrent to "get them working".

But let me put a warning here: Just "downloading" things might get you into legal trouble - as qBittorrent warns you so at first start.
