Babysitting requirement downloading a torrent

I was downloading a torrent using kubuntu, and i keep getting a io error. I'm pretty sure its a permissions issue (its a multipart RAR, dont ask, i have plenty of space, and theres clearly not a character limit). Whenever I apply a full permissions set to allow all users to rwx, it works for about 0.1-7% of the download (the rar will extract as a 50gb iso).
