Update : 2025-05-01 (May 01, 2025) --- The method posted below may no longer work on your older version of Windows 10
The latest version 5.1.0 may not work on your older versions of Windows 10. In addition, it may need a DirectX12 compatible display adapter to function in addition to the latest version of Windows (Regarding DX12, I have not tested this, your experience may vary)
Previous QbitTorrent version 5.0.5 will still work on older Windows versions ie. 1607 (14393) with a DirectX11 graphics adapter device. It can be extracted normally with 7zip, and can be made portable. Versions prior to 5.0 will also work.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are using an older version of Windows 10 that is still supported, and are unable to update your Windows due to Hardware requirements or for whatever reasons
You can make a portable installation.
Extract Qbittorrent.exe and Qbittorrent.pdb from the installer with 7zip (free program),
Copy exe and pdb and put it in a folder wherever you keep your portable apps.
Create a folder "profile" - to make it portable.
Optional : To move your old settings over, put your qBittorrent.ini in it if you have one from Users/Appdata/Roaming/Qbittorrent or you can Re-do your settings again
Hope this helps anyone who may have needed it. Cheers!
