.torrent file removal problem??

Hi, I have seen other threads on this topic, but I am a bit unclear, so please accept my apologies in advance.
I want to remove the .torrent files from my computer after a file is downloaded.
My understanding is, if I click on remove and then check the box to remove all, it will also remove the torrent, but there is a problem. When I download a file, I move it to another folder (that is to say, the file downloads is in a "download" folder) then I move it to where I want it stored.
Sometimes, I can move the file while it is still listed in qBittorrent. Other times, I have to remove the file after I remove the listing from qBittorrent.
Issue, if I have to remove the files in order to move the one file in the list I want to keep, I cannot click the box "also permanently delete the files" as this will delete the file I want.
That leaves me with two options:
1. copy the file instead of moving it. Not a huge problem but copying is much slower than moving, and sometimes the files are very large, or
2. remove the files without selecting "Also permanently delete the files" ....
The second method is how I do it now, but, I believe because of this, the torrent files are not being removed.
Maybe they are being removed and I just do not know this, or if they are not, how do I find those torrent files so I can remove them, and is there a way to say where the torrent files are stored so I can always check that folder to empty them
