Move to hard drive

My laptop needs a Windows reinstall and new internal hard drive. I don't want to loose some of my torrents for which I am often the only seed.
Would it be possible to move qBt and its associated files to an external hard drive and then use them on another laptop? I have not a clew about how I might do this. Thanks

I mean, you just need to move the data, literally just copy it to your external drive. And the .torrent files I suppose.

Once done reinstalling, just add the .torrent file into your qBittorrent and tell qB where the files are when the add torrent dialog pops up. It should recheck the files and start seeding. People often make a mistake here by not matching the path, directory and whatnot 100%. It has to match 100%.

For example, I have a movie called Sinbad.mp4.
But, the torrent was created so it was INSIDE A FOLDER, like so: Sinbad_720p_MOVIE\Sinbad.mp4

Now if I add the torrent, and select the inside of my folder, where only the mp4 file lies, it will fail to find it.
Hope that all makes sense. It sounds a bit confusing at first, but once you get a grasp of it it all makes sense.
