MP3 stream closes when I shut down qBittorrent

Topic.
I use VLC to stream a radio station 24/7 but whenever I shutdown qBittorrent from the tray the MP3 stream dies.
I've searched and can't find anything about it. I have no idea why this would happen.
Any ideas?
