Delete torrent and data

Hi there,

I'm a super fresh qbittorrent user and I love it! Thanks for all the work, I cannot do stuff like that :)

Now my problem is: I noticed that a torrent deletion from the transfer list doesn't remove the file on the disk. Am I doing it wrong or is this normal? I don't blame you if it's a feature still missing. I'm a patient user :)

I've tried to run qBittorrent as administrator to see if this works (though if qBittorrent has normal write-access, it should not make a difference), but it didn't. While I ran as administrator, I noticed that I cannot add new torrents per file association. I'll get a spinning wheel and then it just stops. Just the 'add torrent'-dialogue can make it work.

I'm hoping that this might help you on one hand and my question can be answered on the other hand.

I do believe your super huge windows-dev team get's some new recruits in time, now that uT starts to show ads in the main window :) How many are you? 2? You're doing a good job!

When you delete, you also select the check box on the prompt window? This check box, when selected, should also delete the files/folders of that torrent.

Ah, I see! Thank you. I just remembered the dialogue asking if I am sure to delete, but didn't remember the "delete from disk"-part.
As there is no built-in reset funvtion for this dialogue, I deleted the .ini and I can see it again now. :)

Ah, tricky one. ;) I've found that qB doesn't delete the files on disk if the dialogue is set to off

Options > Advanced > 'Confirm torrent deletion'

It doesn't delete if checked. Can anyone else confirm?

"Confirm torrent deletion" checked, it properly deletes file/folder if you also select the confirmation check box.

"Confirm torrent deletion" unchecked, it does not display a confirmation dialog and also does not delete the file/folder. (as expected)

Well, at least I didn't expect it, loki! :D I expected it to get deleted on disk even if it doesn't ask for confirmation.

That would be backwards thinking... it is set enabled as default, so when you click on torrent to delete you want it to delete your torrent and it's data without confirmation of any kind?!

First: it asks
and I can check whether to delete the disk data or not (and make it fixed with this 'lock'-symbol)

If I uncheck to ask me everytime and I have checked the 'lock-symbol, the disk data doesn't get deleted anymore. So if I want to have my files on disk deleted, I have to get asked everytime to make it work. :)

Ask me?
- No!
= only torrent gets deleted, no matter if I checked disk deletion or not

Ask me?
- Yes!
= torrent AND data gets deleted (depends on whether I checked the lock-symbol)

I thought that if I checked to delete files, too, it would keep this setting saved, but instead it unchecks it as default if I don't want to get asked for confirmation everytime :)

There's no way to set it to delete your data without asking every time.
