Proxy settings doesn't work

qBittorrent 3.0.5
Ubuntu 12.10

The HTTP Proxy setting with authentication which works fine with qBittorrent 2.9.7 (tested by installing it along with the necessary dependencies in Ubuntu 12.10) doesn't work in 3.0.5 (from software center) or 3.0.8 (from PPA).
The downloads are either stalled, or download at extremely slow speeds (torrent: ubuntu desktop ISO file; has lots of seeds; at around 1KB/s in 3.0.*; but downloads at around 1MB/s in 2.9.7).
Is it a bug in qBittorrent or in libtorrent-rasterbar6 0.16.*? (found something of that sort in the web)

The same is reported here (but no response at all :(): https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/279

qBittorrent currently becomes useless for me without the proxy setting.
Please suggest a solution

I don't think the problem is about opening the port in the router :(.
As I wrote in my previous post, it is as if the proxy settings are ignored..

It seems similar problems have been reported for Deluge when using libtorrent-rasterbar6 0.16.x.

Are there any developers here who can provide an explanation? :-\
