hi there
i have just started using Linux mint 14 Nadia and qbittorrent 3.0.5. I am having a few issues.
1) I have to keep setting my custom complete and incomplete download path every time i start up.
2) How do i get Qbittrorent to start up automatically every time i boot up?
3) How do i update?
I orignally downloaded from the software manager is the correct method? I checked the website and i see version 3.0,9 is out yet it doesn't appear in the software manager.
Please be gentle! Thanks in advance for your advice.

Software manager is the safest and most supported way to install programs but if you need newer than what is available by them then most likely have to go official ppa... see below.
Updating to latest version may resolve issue #1, again, see later down in this message.
This little tutorial, found through search engine should still apply to Mint 14,
http://www.howtogeek.com/103640/how-to- ... x-mint-12/
And finally, updating, Linux Mint (non-Debian edition) is based on Ubuntu so you should be able to use the Ubuntu ppa, follow the directions from the download page for Ubuntu. And most likely choose stable, not unstable or trunk.

Thanks for that Ive managed to update and set it to boot at start up. However i still cant manage to get it too save custom paths. What is interesting is that i installed Transmission and it too has the same problem. Im probably going to install ubuntu.

Open your home folder and enable "show hidden files/folders". Then right-click on .config and see its properties. There should be a tab telling you the read/write permissions. You should have write permissions to that folder and its subfolders. If you have write permissions for .config then check if you also have write permissions for .config/qBittorrent
I am sure that this can be done far easier and quicker in the command line, but I don't know the commands by hand. And I am too lazy to search for it. Use google to find "linux folder permissions"

Hi i have done as you said However it never saved after i rebooted. I check the permissions on the config folders and they didn't save, despite pressing apply.

This is probably a general problem and not related to qbittorrent. Wait for other linux users to reply here, and maybe help you.
