connected peers log

Hello,
When peers are connected to me on my ubuntu machine, is their a log files, like ipblock has a ipblock.log file of the ip address, I know you can view them in the gui was just wondering if their was a way i could then use this file to query using nmap, what see if OS people are connecting to me on, I want to see who wins Mac, Linux, BSD, Windows etc.... Or is their software to help me do this?
