Hi and welcome,

Probably is English not your main language (also not mine) but your grammer makes my eyes hurt and thinking what you are trying to say the same time. What is for you ''lower upload speed''? What is your internet connection? OS perhaps? A bit more information would be nice.

So uhm.. what?
I did read your post like three times.

Is qBittorrent slow?
Does it kill your connection?

When I set the upload speed to lets say 1kb/s it drops from like 1mb/s to like 15kb/s utorrent doesn't gimp my download speed when I change the upload speed setting

Ooooh I understand!

Well, first of all if you want to leech only, use at least 5-10kbps. Or at least 3-5kbps.
If you want to be a scumbag and upload zero, use BitThief. (just kidding)

Back to the topic: This happened to me many times as well, but it only happens with specific torrents.
Sometimes I don't have to upload, sometimes my speed drops down. But this is not qBittorrent specific, happens with uTorrent as well for me.

There is no "golden rule" here.
Just set it to 5kbps if you don't want to upload. (That much, you will still upload some data of course.)

If you pick a torrent where you do need have to upload, then upload.
Simple as that. (But it's not a qBT issue as far as I experienced.)
