I/O error - Access Denied

I'm constantly getting this error every time I try to check a torrent:
14/05/2014 21:46:40 - Um erro de I/O aconteceu, 'MAME 0.153 EXTRAs' foi pausado.
14/05/2014 21:46:40 - Motivo: MAME 0.153 EXTRAs file (E:\ROMs\MAME\EXTRAs/flyers/astron.png) error: Acesso negado

It's always stopping in the same file, at 85.5%. I already had most files from previous version of the torrent (MAME 0.152 EXTRAs), so I'm trying to join the torrent with the files I already have.

The file 'astron.png' is not blocked. I even tried removing it, but then qBittorrent stopped in another file with the same error.

I tried upgrading to version 3.2.0alpha 64-bit, but the problem persists.

so I'm trying to join the torrent with the files I already have.
Which probably will not work in any case.

It actually does in most cases. This was the only exception I found so far.

What happens if you mark the png file as "do not download"? Do other files download correctly after that?

I didn't try that. But I tried removing this PNG file and qBittorrent gave the I/O error in another file.

I have reapplied the permissions and ownership metadata in all the files now, I'm trying a new check. Let's see if this works.

Then you have been fortunate with the 'files' being EXACT binary equivalents of the ones you are replacing.

That's how it's supposed to be. Every new MAME set includes some new files (new supported games) and maybe some updated files (new good dumps, new versions of the same game). Most of the files will be exactly the same as the last version. The torrent releasers even torrentzip everything to make sure the zipped version of the files will be exactly the same.

In this sense, if you had the previous version you will have to download only a fraction of the newer version instead of another hundreds of gigabytes. This also means that there will be lots of seeders in short time. Moreover, people may just point the torrent to their actual rom folder and after they finished downloading they will seed directly from there. No need to keep duplicates just to keep seeding.

The reset of permissions and ownership didn't help.
I also checked the hard disk for errors and there was none.
I'll try removing the offending files one by one and look for some pattern.

Are you trying to seed this with both uT and qBit?  Also have you done a full restart of your system to make sure windows doesn't have any "phantom" locks on the files?

The goal of the program is to use standard values when creating zips to create identical files over multiple systems.

No. I've uninstalled uT.
Yes, I did try a full restart.

Just curious, how big is the torrent, I have one very large torrent that won't recheck in qBit, wondering if it might be a size issue.
