When I'm on my home wi-fi I can successfully manipulate torrents with qbittorrent controller.

Problem occurs when I'm on other wi-fi's than it simply doesn't work. 

What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, if you have your local IP added in the controller, then it won't work.
Like, when you move to another WIFI, even inside your house, that's a different network.

BUT, you can forward out your port, and reach it from anywhere.
