Updatable torrents

Howdy, I'm a random dev looking to get involved in qBittorrent development, in particular by implementing BEP 39 (updatable torrents, http://www.bittorrent.org/beps/bep_0039.html). This is something that the Internet Archive have been pushing for for years  (full rationale here https://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewto ... =3&t=15151), and I believe it could be an incredibly useful feature that would open new doors for how torrents could be used. This is an idea that crops up every so often (e.g. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6920244 / https://gist.github.com/mait/8001883), and the general consensus is "Yes, this is a great idea!" and then nothing happens.

I've been poking around the code for a few days, and decided it would be good to come say hi and check if anyone else had been thinking about this, before diving in and coding.

Also, thanks to everyone for the effort you've all put in to make what I believe to be the best torrent client currently available!

For qBitTorrent to support the draft proposal of mutable payloads it requires that the protocol engine used by qBT(libtorrent) has support for BEP39. Arvid Norberg IS the author of BEP39 and the developer behind libtorrent so guess what my next suggestion is going to be :)

Yep, you got that exactly right .... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/lis ... nt-discuss
