qBittorrent official forums

Hi there,

as of a few days ago i noticed that qbittorrent doesnt seem to care if a specific network interface has been specified for use.

For example: I use Ipredator, and as soon as i am connected to the VPN, a new interface tun0 shows up. If this interface is present before qbittorrent starts, downloads will stop as soon as the interface is gone. However: if i start qbittorent without having connected to the VPN, downloads resume on wlan0, my unsecured connection. This is inacceptable. For reference, i am currently using the following libraries:

Qbittorrent v3.1.9.2
qt 4.8.6
libtorrent 0.16.13.0
boost 1.54.0

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour? Is there a fix i have overlooked?

Just so you know latest is v3.1.11.
Open a bug in the bug tracker stating that the problem is that qbt connects to another interface if the configured one isn't available. (unless there is already such a bug reported)

I cant compile the latest version, and when adding the ppa from this site the stable release i get is 3.1.9.2. So that is the one i can work with. The problem has worsened, if at any time the predefined interface disappears, the program uses any of the available connections to download further. In the short run i can mitigate this via ufw, but in the long run that becomes tedious.
