All downloads rechecking after shutdown and startup

Last straw. Had to register to ask about this one. Found no valid answers for my problem. There probably are but I just couldent find the search combination for it, I guess. The scenario is that I exit qbittorrent and start it up and all downloads complete or not is in the "Checking" or "Queued for checking" state. It has happened before in several versions of qbt. This time I was using the last 3.1 version whatever that was. Upgraded to see if there was some new thing that could help with this but not that I could see.
Ideally there would be some menu options to get around this problem but I dont think there is. Except readd all the torrents? Right now, though, I just need some quick and dirty way to get around this. I'm looking at the .fastresume files but it doesent make much sense. Is there a timestamp inside the files or something? I'm assuming there is some sort of timestamp/state-saving problem going on.
Regards

It is caused by a "dirty" close down, and is fixed in the current version.

Thanks! You mean this should not happen again in and after version 3.2.1 ?
If someone have an idea I'd still would like to know about a quick way to mark the downloads as checked.

There isn't one.

Does this still happen with v3.2.1?

It's been happening to me since 3.2.0.
I have tried deleting the .fastresume files, with no success in clearing up the problem.
I just removed 45GB in 3 torrents, which seems to help startup a little bit, but it's still slow to finish checking.
Is there a way to stop qbit from checking all the files on startup?

After some pondering I think that having a way to skip checking would be a bad idea. Hows the risk here? I dont know the bittorrent protocol but it has to hash check everything it received, right? Even so, to keep seeding corrupt data is very bad form in the network. Better safe checking than sorry.
It was a couple of years ago but I think I had this problem with utorrent also but more frequently. Anyhow. I dont think there is a skip check feature in utorrent these days either.
Some searching yields that utorrent probably still also have this problem. Though, it does have bt.graceful_shutdown option. Still dont think it helps if you shutdown Windows. Not sure about this but maybe there is a way to hint to Windows that the process is important enough to wait for closedown. Maybe run it as a service or something. But in any case it takes developing and testing and devs are probably busy with more interesting things.
Windows shutdown aside. One thing that could have been fixed in the latest version of qbt, is this scenario (which I had): Opened qbt and closed it immediately. If that is fixed then all we have to do is make sure we close qbt well before shutting down Windows or doing other sensitive OS operations whatever they might be.

@CrabJuice:
It would shave a lot off the startup time, if the torrent files were only checked as requests come in for access for the first time for each file or torrent after startup, instead of checking everything all at once upon startup.
I am pretty sure that's what uT does, as I don't get notifications that files are missing, etc. until way after uT is up and running.

Close qbittorrent cleanly before powering you machine down or exiting Windows

If you get all your torrents reinstalled in qBitTorrent, you could back up qBT's settings files for quicker recovery.

This issue is still not fixed.
While shutting down Windows without closing qBittorrent always led to a re-check of a random amount of torrents, it now keeps happening even after a clean shutdown of qBittorrent.
Great. My SSD loves it and so will my purse. Is there a workaround or fix available at this point or do I have to "wait for the next version that totally fixes this, promise."?
As awesome as QB is ... it's kinda a deal-breaker.
This bug exists for more than a decade now.

Jesus effing christ could you please fix this. Rechecking now ~200 torrents despite me waiting for ~45 minutes after closing qB before shutting down my PC.
Is this some kind of collution between seagate and qb or what? Destroying HDDs?
edit: Even a 120GB torrent being rechecked. Good stuff.

I've been using utorrent since around 2006 and recently downloaded qBittorrent. I like how it's similar to utorrent and have seen it recommend over utorrent these days because of all the (negative) changes utorrent has been through in recent years. One thing I have noticed right away in qBittorrent is when the program restarts it automatically forces a torrent recheck. I only have 1 torrent now so no big deal, but like others have posted here and other threads, this can be a considerable issue when there are many torrents.
I don't see the need to recheck a torrent this is finished and will not be seeded any longer. How can I keep the torrent file in the list but not have it rechecked? I am using the proper shut down method (press file>Exit, or press X in upper right corner, is there a better way?) and it is still happening. Has anyone found a way around this. Is there another way of organizing the torrent list to prevent this. I have been using an old version of utorrent and this never happens. Can't speak for recent versions though. Is there a way to filter the list view. There should be a way to use the qBittorrent interface to view my finished torrents, ones that are inactive, won't be seeded and not rechecked upon startup. If I make them active again and restart, then they can recheck at that time. Is there a reason that this is not a good idea that I'm missing?

As a followup to my initial observations: qBittorrent appears to not recheck the torrents unless there is some missing (or perhaps corrupt?) information in the torrent. I noticed it recheck a torrent that I had deleted one of those "downloaded from..." files. With a complete torrent- no recheck, and I was able to experiment by deleting the small extra file again and got the same results. So the feature (behavior) that many have been asking for appears to have been implemented. Windows 10 qBittorrent 4.1.7.
Good job Sledgehammer999 and team.
