I had an issue whereby qBittorrent wasn't running properly. When I launched it nothing happened, it would appear in processes in task manager but the GUI wouldn't appear and I couldn't access the program. I searched hard for a solution online, but in the end resorted to a clean install. After the install all my torrents appeared as expected, but now whenever I start qBittorrent they all hang whilst it checks the files. This happens every time I start the client. Some of them are very large so as you can imagine this process takes forever.

I recently migrated most of my files to a NAS and this is now my download folder. However, some of downloads are on local drives and the same issue affects those, so I don't think this is a network share issue.

I'm running v3.2.3 on Win 7 64

Any suggestions as to how to solve this issue?

Manually force a recheck individually, then make sure you close down cleanly every time, ans as you are using  NAS device DO NOT have qbittorrent set to start with Windows.

Thanks ciaobaby, your solution worked. I think the problem seemed to be that it was hanging when starting up because the NAS access wasn't ready and that seemed to cause everything to grind to a halt. On top of that I guess I needed to be more patient. One of my torrents is 162Gb and it took nearly 12 hours to recheck for reasons unknown, and I hadn't been prepared to wait that long before throwing my toys out of the pram! Now that it has manually rechecked every torrent though everything seems to be running smoothly again.

Back up qBitTorrent's settings so you can restore from those instead of doing >12 hour recheck restarts.

Has there been any solution for this problem? I have the same issue when I store to removable storage. Once that drive is removed I then have to recheck everything which takes hours.
