Hey there. Even though I check the "Also delete files from hard disk", the files are still there and I have to delete them manually. Any solutions?

Any information about this in the Execution Log?

This usually happens when you downloaded only a part of the torrent (not all the files in it). Or, when at least a file or directory of that torrent are used by another app.

In logs it appears. For example: "(N) 2017-01-03T17:03:29 - '3%.S01.1080p.NF.WEBRip.DD5.1.x264-PiA' was removed from transfer list and hard disk.", but it is still on HDD. For testing purpose, right after I opened the PC, I tried and delete it, only it was still there. And again for testing purpose, I tried downloading the same file (in this case, a full folder "3%.S01.1080p.NF.WEBRip.DD5.1.x264-PiA") with utorrent and delete its data and it worked. Not sure what would interfere with the file, since there is no player opened and antivirus has exclusion from torrent files.

Newest qB version tested by me was 3.3.7 - I've never encountered this type of problems (except the situations i've already described in my post above). I'm afraid that, if you are using a newer version I can't help you because I didn't test it myself.

I'm a new user, got the same problem. The files are not deleted, did find a fix for that?

Hey everyone, I figured out the issue and wanted to share it here for others who might have the same problem. I noticed no one mentioned this, so I hope it helps.
The program does delete files correctly, but it only works for torrents that were originally downloaded through QBittorrent. When I installed QBittorrent, I migrated several torrents from uTorrent using the bt2qbt utility. When I tried to delete those, the torrents disappeared, but the files remained on the hard drive.
It was really confusing, and it took me a few weeks to start using QBittorrent with torrents that I added directly through it. When I deleted those, all files were successfully removed
So, to summarize: Files from torrents that were imported from uTorrent to QBittorrent don't get deleted, but files from torrents that are originally added to QBittorrent are deleted without any problems.
I hope this explanation is clear and helps others. I'm also going to post this same message in other threads where I asked for help. Hopefully, there won't be any issues with repetition.

Been using qBt for years.
Noticed lately that the files still remain even after deleting them properly (currently v4.6.5).

I have the same problem. I am moving from a Windows 10 PC to a new computer with Windows 11. I keep torrents and data on an external hard drive, which I plugged into the new computer. It checked all the torrents and started downloading a bunch that I had removed in the last month. Now I guess I'll have to delete them manually, and also any I want to remove in the future. One thing: I switched to using Magnet link to start a torrent about a year ago.
