running qBittorrent in Linux Mint -can't port forward from Uverse router

Hi I'm a new linux user trying to use my Uverse router to port forward to qBittorrent. I followed directions found online and the router found my computer on the network and I was able to set up a connection but when I set up a listening port in qBittorrent I still show "no direct connections". I have a feeling I'm missing a step somewhere. I am running Mint on a live USB drive but have had easy internet connection for browser through wifi. Router is the Motorola NVG510
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Jeff

If it is improper port forwarding, try this:
https://portforward.com/motorola/nvg510/
If it isn't port forwarding, it could be a lot of things. Get back to us if you still have problems.

Thanks Compass, it works now, still shows "no direct connections" under Connection Status and icon still yellow but I am able to complete transfers now.

Are you using a Proxy Server?
Go to the Advanced Section in Options, and set "Network Interface" to the one you're using (mine is eth0), and "Optional IP Address to bind to" to your LAN IP Address (you should have a static IP Address).
In the Connection Section in Options, disable "Use UPnP..." and "Use different port...". With a static IP Address and Port you should disable those.
Close qBittorrent and run it again.
